MSV Packet Data System


The need to transmit essential data between business operations is essential, whether you need to gather information from distant truck fleets and rolling stock, communicate with a ship at sea or retrieve bill of lading information from delivery vehicles. Packet Data Specialized Services - the leading developer and supplier of secure, digital, mobile communications services in the Americas - make transmitting data from isolated sites or mobile resources quick and efficient. Packet Data Specialized Services support wireless data applications such as: fleet and load management; credit card verification; e-mail; vehicle position reporting; mobile computing; and data message broadcast. Two different types of Data Messaging Services Response-oriented Transaction Service - for network-acknowledged, bi-directional messages; Universal Datagram Service - for host-to-remote/multiple remote broadcast messages. Transmissions carried by the Packet Data Specialized Services are extremely secure. To prevent unauthorized or fraudulent use of the service, each communicator must be registered and given network access by MSV. The system also provides security against fraudulent communicator use through an Access Security Key, which is unique to every mobile terminal.

Dispatch Radio Service - MSV Dispatch Radio Service allows work crews, drivers, law enforcement teams, firefighters, and others to stay in communication and perform their job virtually anywhere. The two-way group communications capability allows for two modes of operation: Normal - one user can talk to many users or Private - users can conduct private one to one conversations. The service is a cost-effective alternative to installing, maintaining, and relocating land-based two-way radio communications systems. Voice Line Service - With the Voice Line Service, experience the voice capability of a traditional telephone through the means of satellite. The Voice Line Service allows people to call into landline telephones and/or receive calls from landline telephones. A toll-free number is established for the mobile satellite device to allow you to keep in constant communication.
